Covenant

We, the members of United Praise Ministries, having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, angels and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ to:

  • Walk together in Christian love, growing in the wisdom and knowledge of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that salvation is by faith in Christ alone.  Once we confess our belief in Jesus Christ as our Savior we are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit and indwelt by the Holy Spirit.  We believe that we are sealed by the Holy Spirit.

  • To attend worship services, midweekly Bible studies, obey ordiances, discipline and doctrine: to contribute cheerfully and regularly as God prospered us, towards its expenses, missions, and benevolence to the poor for the furtherance of the gospel.

  • In the event of disagreement, will avoid a contentious spirit, avoid the spreading of gossip or slander, to seek the biblical mandate for conflict resolution (Matthew 18:15-20).  Should no resolution occur, we will prayerfully, and in the Spirit of Christ, recognize the right of the Pastor and majority to govern.

  • Maintain regular personal and family devotion by studying diligently the Word of God; to educate our children in the nurture and admonition of God's word, to encourage and evangelize the unsaved of their need for salvation and proclaim the soon coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  • Walk circumspectly in the world, being honest and above reproach in all we say and do, extending goodwill to all, denying ungodliness and worldly lust; to pray for our government and its leaders, and for the peace of Israel.

  • Encourage, exhort and pray for our sisters and brothers in Christ, to hold each other accountable to good works, to guard each other's reputation, by not slandering or gossiping about them.

  • Express joy when they rejoice, and sorrow when sympathy is due, to bear one another's burdens, to live to the glory of God our Father who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light by which we are blessed forever more.

  • Should we have to leave this humble assembly, we will notify the Pastor and as soon as led by the Holy Spirit, unite with another Bible believing, Christ centered church.
